2012 will see South Woodford enter the Conference Cup for the first time.

The 1st round draw will see the South party bus hit the road on Sunday 6th May and travel to Amersham CC.

Bedfordshire’s Amersham play in the top division of the Morrant Thames Valley Cricket League.

This is again a cup that South will be looking to go a long way in.

If South Woodford are to win the National Cup this season they will first have to get passed  Hornsey CC in the first round.

We have been drawn at home to Hornsey in the first round. Hornsey after a successful 2011 have been promoted to the Middlesex County League Division One which is effectively the Middlesex Premier League.

Our paths did cross last year in the regional semis of the National, in which we won by 5 wickets, chasing 157.

This years winners will be at home to South Hampstead or Brondesbury in round two.

2010 Twenty20 winners South Woodford have been drawn in a group that contains 2010 finalist Buckhurst Hill, 2009 winners Chingford. Epping and Woodford Green make up the group of 5 teams.

With two sides progressing to the last 16, South will fancy their chances especially with our strong record over the two previous seasons in the competition.

The draw for the first round of the Essex league cup has been made.

Premier league South Woodford have been drawn away to Upminster CC. The winners of the tie will have a home game in round two versus Chingford or Old Southendians.

South will be looking for an extended run in this competition after falling to Colchester in the second round last year

New Year’s Eve as always one of our busiest events  – is fast approaching and as always includes a disco and fireworks.  Tickets will be on sale as of tomorrow via either myself or Kirk and are priced at £10 per adult and £5 for children over the age of 10 –all tickets need to be paid for in advance and it is first come first served.

A massive thank you to Karen Shirt, Malibu Sue, Sue Neicho And Mrs Green for all their efforts in organising yesterdays entertainment and fund raising, it was a great Afternoon/Evening at the club, a real Christmas experience, best thing to come out of yesterday was that Sue Neicho has now sorted Garry out with singing lessons for Christmas, you will be amazed what inspiration comes from being at the shed.

After a few games there have been mixed fortunes for both the indoor sides.

Nicky’s A team have struggled in the top division and are still searching for that first win.

Triggers B’s on the other hand are currently sitting on the top of the table. Adam has led the side to 4 victories and only slipped up once.

After the Christmas break Nick will almost certainly be looking to win a few and avoid that relegation battle and for Trig? More of the same please.
